Kenwood Food Mixer Review
The Kenwood food mixer is the best food processor for those of you who find you struggle for storage space around your kitchen. It’s the ideal size for student accommodation too, where space is of the essence.
With a size of 39 x 27 x 22 cm, and within that, you get the on board storage carousel, which is ideal for storing most of the accessories you get with the Kenwood FP731 food processor. The larger accessories, such as the dough tool will need separate storage, but the different shredding disc and even the whisk can be stored within the bowl that comes with it.

A few flaws in the Kenwood Food Mixer
- Design
There’s an extra large bowl that can take up a lot of storage space, in your cupboards, but you can house that on the unit and just remove it when you need to use the food mixer.
That said though, there is a bowl with spare parts, that can easily slot into the larger main bowl, so that helps with storage.
Not everyone wants to keep the large bowl out on display though. Shelves are handy for this in your kitchen to put the bowl out the way of your worktops. The main unit itself has a great modern touch and is perfectly suited to sit nicely on your worktops, without taking up too much space.

You’ll just need to store one of the bowls away when you’re not using it, but it’s not something that would stop you buying it. It would be more ideal if you could store the 2 bowls together on the unit, without having to separate them.
- Grater Attachment
Even using the best food processor you can find, you’re going to have difficulty grating everything you put through it. Carrots especially. The Kenwood FP731 seems to have more problems in this area, than others do, as it’s a large amount that’s left at the end of the vegetables.
When you’re making coleslaw, soups, or the like, you could find yourself sifting through the grated carrot, to remove the end of the vegetable.
You’re best to take the ends off, before putting through the processor, to avoid this problem. That’s something the instruction manual could have explained a little clearer.
Would the Kenwood food mixer be the best food processor for you?
Despite the couple of flaws the Kenwood FP731 has, there’s so much more to it that most certainly makes up for them. All the accessories, the variable speed settings, storage, modern slick design…and of course, the value for money. It’s a tremendous saving to what you’d pay for a similar Kenwood food mixer, such as the Kenwood Chef. For the value, it’s a dream machine for those that hate the hassles of food preparation, or even for those who struggle to find the time to cook fresh dinners at home.
If you’ve never tried a Kenwood food mixer before, then give the FP731 Kenwood food mixer, and you’ll soon see why people feel that this is by far the best food processor available.
